Teri Donovan is a Toronto-based mixed artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, photo-based work, and occasionally, sculpture. She is concerned with issues related to perception, memory, and identity, and focuses on patterns that shape thoughts and behaviors in relation to the influence of the past on the present and future.
To address these areas, she juxtaposes elements to create visual dialogues that expose, question, and highlight underlying patterns that contribute to contemporary life.
Teri Donovan holds a Fine Arts degree from York University and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto. She studied at The Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, the Ontario College of Art and Design, and the Toronto School of Art. Her work has been exhibited in Toronto, southern Ontario, Nova Scotia, Chicago, and New York City. Her paintings are in corporate and private collections and were featured in Carte Blanche Vol.2: Painting, a survey of contemporary painting in Canada.
