Artist member since 2020

Teri Donovan is a mixed media artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, and photo-based work. Among the things that shape her practice is a concern with issues related to perception, memory, and identity, and inherited patterns from the past that shape the present. These concepts, as well as issues related to climate change, and global warming are explored in her mainly representational practice of figurative, and still life paintings.

Her works form part of a conversation in which she invites viewers to engage with an experience, idea, or observation in her work and relate it to their own experiences, observations, and ideas about the world.

Teri Donovan holds a Fine Arts degree from York University and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto. She studied at The Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, the Ontario College of Art and Design, and the Toronto School of Art. Her work has been exhibited in Toronto, southern Ontario, Nova Scotia, Chicago, and New York City. Her paintings are in corporate and private collections and were featured in Carte Blanche Vol.2: Painting, a survey of contemporary painting in Canada.
