Where it's been: This work was made as part of a series of small still life paintings concerned with climate change and it's implications for our world. The image of a wall fragment with Dodo birds is about the idea of extinction. It's juxtaposed with a contemporary cell phone, fruit, a bell, and small glitches. For me, the glitches represent cracks in our system. The bell refers to the quote, "Ask not for whom the bell tolls. It tolls for you", and it symbolizes nature and the world as we know it may be on its way to extinction. This work is temporarily NOT FOR SALE. It will be in a gallery show in June. If it isn't sold at my show in June, it will be available for sale on Partial Gallery again.
